What Hosts Say

Companies that host interns from the Entrepreneurship Minor consistently give us great feedback on our students. Many of our graduates have been hired by their internship host, whether startups or more established innovation hubs.

No ivory tower! For students, UNC's Minor in Entrepreneurship program merges academic inquiry and rigor with real world work experience and opportunity. For organizations participating in UNC's summer internship program it means the privilege of working with talented, high-achieving and inquisitive interns.

Kelly Hoey, Co-Founder Women Innovate Mobile

Our intern completely blew away my expectations for an intern. Everyday, she came to the office wide-eyed, hungry to learn and eager to contribute. She's certainly raised the bar for interns to come and if I had the power I'd certainly offer her a permanent position on our Planning team.

 Bri Pennie,  Account DeveMoxie Interactive

Our intern was smart, hardworking, and enthusiastic. She did the work of someone with an MBA. We would hire her full time in a nanosecond.

Todd Parchman
Partner, Parchman Vaughan & Co. LLC

Our CEI intern immensely helped our organization — from his optimistic attitude to his fresh ideas, he was a great addition to our team. We were happier with CEI's placement than with many hires that we've independently made in the past.

Clay Schossow
Partner, New Media Campaigns

Our experience with the intern was surprisingly beneficial not only to the intern but also to our company. The intern conducted himself in a professional manner and the learning experience consisted of two-way interaction.

Brian P Palmieri
CEO, GLG Life Tech Corp.

Our intern was a great fit for our company. He contributed valuable time and energy to key projects and even had his work featured on a client's Web site. Most importantly, he demonstrated the most vital entrepreneurial characteristics — a willingness and desire to learn and succeed.

 Donald McMillan
Business Development Manager, Schmap Inc.

UNC's Entrepreneurship Minor internship program has consistently provided our company with quality students who are highly motivated and eager to learn. We look forward to working closely with this program for many years to come.

 Jeff Staub

Definitely one of the most successful internship experiences we've had to date!

Jim Harvey
VP Business Development, Motricity

Our intern was a well qualified, highly motivated and exceptionally capable person who has done a superb job with our development project.

 Dr. T. Namaya
Creative Director, Sweet Pond Eco Community

Through the UNC Minor in Entrepreneurship internship program, our organization hosted Brandon Young, a student who became an integral part of our team. Our project's mission is to help rebuild New Orleans by providing affordable, sustainable houses for residents of the Lower 9th Ward who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Brandon worked with community members and former residents to develop a database for our organization that allowed us to track a resident's progress through the steps to rebuild their homes. He also provided due diligence research on everything from government grants available to New Orleans homeowners to software that allows residents to take a virtual tour of their Make It Right home. We liked Brandon so much we kept him for six more months! Carolina, thank you for lending us Brandon Young!
