Timeline

September-November:  Students Schedule Individual Meetings with the Director of Student Programming. Students utilize resources (University Career Services, internet, professors, other contacts, etc.) to research internship opportunities.  Students should stay up to date with the Weekly E Minor Newsletters for additional postings. If you opt to meet with the Director of Student Programming, your  Internship Interest Form due 24 hours prior.

September: Internship Program Overview Meeting during fall semester. (During Econ 325)

November: Students may attend the Shanghai Study Abroad/internship interest meeting.

December: Students should begin to internship positions over winter break.

January: Students attend internship panel, apply for JNO Awards, NYC Innovation Fellowships and Bay Innovation Fellowships. Optional resume review sessions.

February: February 11, Applications due for Shanghai summer program.

January-April:  Students will remain in contact with the Director of Student Programming and pursue their top internship leads:  sending resumes, interviewing, etc.

April:  Attend required pre-departure meeting for cities where programming happens (NYC, Bay, Triangle). Deadline for securing internship  is April 14th. This is the same day that the Required Internship Agreement is due. 

All Summer:  Make the most of your internship! Record journal entries, think about your internship portfolio, attend enrichment sessions if you're in NYC or the Triangle. Fill out feedback forms following the events so that your attendance is counted.

June 30th:  Journal Entries 1-4 due by June 30th.

Late Summer:  Journal Entries 5-8 and Internship Feedback Due July 30th.

August:  Begin ECON 393 Practicum in Entrepreneurship. (We will enroll you unless you've indicated a conflict with the course.) Class will meet on T/R at 2:00 during the fall semester.
